Stem Whacker?

I was talking to a chief in my dept. in florida and we were talking about fires. I said thatIm a stemwhacker when it comes to fire calls. He was confused by the term stemwhacker so I tried explaining that it meant someone who gets excited over things fire related..(i guess).

What he couldnt figure out and what i didnt know was what Stemwhacker actually means... does anyone have a clue on this?

I dont even think its a yankee term, but the best way to expain it is when someone get phyically stimulated by fire calls and such, tell him its kind of like whacking your bag;) cause realistically thats what it means whacking your stem
