A chief's education

What type of education/degrees would you suggest I take, if i want to become a cheif

First I would start with spelling CHIEF correctly. Go to college and get some type of management degree while you are honing your hands-on experience. The National Fire Academy has a lot of great courses and the federal government picks up the tab. Unless you have at least 15 years of progressive experience I would not consider the move. Preperation is everything. If you take care of that the Chief positions will come but be careful what you ask for.
