Same Here. Lots of damage to the North and South of us.
Towns of Canton Mo. and Lima IL got hit hard last evening. They are about 30 miles Northeast of us. Also several houses damaged about 10 miles South from a different tornado. Several injuries were reported but from what I have heard none were serious or fatal.

We missed it, too. Had .3" of rain last night, no lightning to speak of, no wind. The rougher stuff went north and south of us, too. It's supposed to stay dry now for at least 4 days.

We're getting our wind today. Gusts up to 55. As for rain, we had .08" last night and half that today.

We got hit pretty good here, i think every county within 40 miles was under a tornado warning, South Pekin had 1 dead. It got pretty crazy at work and then moved up toward CR. Anyone hear how bad Ipava's fire station was hit???? heard it was destroyed. VCFPD could have been at a barn fire but he was a bit drunk....sorry Ty, missed another. I think it could have been much worse, all in all i believe we were lucky.

Like Chick said I was a little "under the weather" last night. Had a wedding reception last night in the Burg. Dont know of any major damage one neighbor to the south lost a roof off of a barn. Had H2O on Rt. 167 in several places. Heard same of Ipava but not how bad station was hit.

South Pekin and Morton got nailed hard. Multiple houses were destroyed, and at least a few were found dead.
We were really hoping they would call us for aid... but they didn't.

My favorite piece of lawn furniture got blown over.
Watched the developing storms for quite some time. With all of my weather spotter experience, the wife won't let me go out, now that I am "retired". Sitting in the basement with her is a real blast!:(
My heart goes out to Morton and South Pekin. They got hammered.
Some of the expensive homes next to I-74 in Morton got stripped by high winds. A couple of brick homes were leveled. That would make it above an F-3, would it not?
Jay; did you have any weather?
The season is upon us. But the technology now is so much better in predicting them. Now, if we can just get the idiots to go to a safe place instead of driving around.....
Stay safe.

Talk about idiots out during a storm. My skywarn volunteers see it every time they're trying to track a severe storm cell. Wrinkle butts out driving 15mph when they have no business being out of their basements, getting in my guys'way. It must have something to do with the barometric pressure drop.

Enough already. The radar has looked pretty nasty in the central and southern parts of Illinois off and on all day. I hope all's well with you.

We missed it again. It was supposed to rain twice now and it hasn't! They did get it north and south again. Farmers are starting to talk about getting back to work in a couple of days. That should open up the skies.
Trainer, you say you're from "small town USA" - bet my town is smaller than your town.

Was at the golf course last evening for league golf. There was a 15 minute delay until the severe weather blew through. After that, it was great golfing weather. Sunk a 27 ft. putt that was downhill and broke to the left. IN THE CUP. Saved my double bogey! Hey; I had witnesses.
Jack: trainer exaggerated. We are not a town, but a VILLAGE. Population 803. And NO grocery store. He moved to an adjoining community, thinking that we would go there to shop. He was wrong. Rumor has it the store is for sale. We have a truck stop, a convenience store, 4 churches, 4 taverns, a grain coop, a seed-corn processing plant, post office, 2 banks and numerous women who do hair.
Oh and we have a couple of trucking companies, a full time cop, 2 full time village employees and one village idiot. He's on the village board.
We don't have a cat or dog problem, but an occasional skunk or racoon.
One morning I was going by the fire station to go to work and there was a beaver sitting by the front walk in door. Honest to God. A live freakin' beaver. I told the cop that night cause he's the critter control guy too and he got mad because I didn't call him. Seems he'd been trying to catch this varmint for weeks. He'd been in the south end of town taking down all of the small trees.
Now, how many others have a beaver story to tell?
