As a member of the fire service and the building code community,I have heard all kinds of criticism from both sides of the fence regarding structural building codes, and supposed lack of concern for fire-fighter safety. Can anyone shed some light on the subject as far as when this all started, and how the situation got as exagerrated as it is?
