Northwest Ohio FOOLS

Some brothers in this area are getting a Northwest Ohio Chapter of the Fraternal Order Of Leatherheads Society (http://www.foolsinternational.com/indext.htm) started.

If any of you from this area are interested, PM me and I'll get you the e-mail address of the brother who is organizing it.

The FOOLS, like the traditional leather helmet, has always existed through the brotherhood and tradition of the Fire Service, and will continue to grow and flourish as long as there are fires to fight and emergencies to respond to. All firefighters are welcome to be a part of this great organization, one does not have to own a leather helmet to be considered a "Leatherhead". The only qualification is that you are true to your profession and true to your Brother and Sister firefighters.

Yea...me too, I'm not taking a date, I was hoping to pick up some babes at Ike and Jonsey's bar again. Everytime I go to FDIC I get so friggin' S---faced and hungover the next day, I never remember what the hell I saw at the exhibits. Its great in Indy, great bars and plenty to do...and Oh yeah, FDIC ain't bad either ;)

I don't have a date either, my wife frowns on me having girlfriends.

But the calendar dates for FDIC (Friday & Saturday) are April 30th & May 1st.

Sounds like a plan...Most of the hotels close to the convention center are already booked. Moe does your wifes company have anything close to the convention center as far as hotels?

Moe does your wifes company have anything close to the convention center as far as hotels?

I had her check a couple months ago and all of their hotels in Indy were not accepting the employee discount rate for that weekend (can't imagine why!). I'll have her check around some more on Monday.

If your buying I guess I could take a couple of my pitifully few vacation days and meet you there. Course that would mean you would have to be here at work dosen't it

I just checked the Union Station Crown Plaza website and it was booked. I stayed there a month or so ago for a football game and it was pretty cool. It is right across the street from the RCA Dome so hopefully something will open up.

I just checked the www.fdic.com website and all the hotels close to the RCA Dome/convention center are all booked, we'll have to book one outside of town it looks like. Check out the website and see what you all think. You can order your tickets to get in, I would highly suggest you pre-register for you tickets to get in, if you wait till the day we go, you'll have to wait in a long line to get in

If were all going to go, we should book some rooms ASAP

I can only stay Friday night. I have to be to work by 11:30 AM Sunday.

I'll have some hotel info by Monday evening and will send e-mails.

Oh and remember we can't "Led Zeppelin" the hotel rooms either or she'll get in trouble, 10-4 K?

You have to apply to one of the Local Chapters or get at least an executive board then submit everything to the International. Go to www.foolsinternational.com and click on become a member.

No, I don't think it will be a problem....Here's a disclaimer:

Just so everyone reading knows...this will be a different chapter than NW Ohio FOOLS....We received approval from the International Administrator to get a Metro Toledo Chapter started and we are currently in the application process.
