Can anyone give me an idea what will be on a battalion chief assessment center I have on the west coast in the near future.

The assessment center can be made up, but not limited to a combination of an in-and-out basket, fire problem, oral board, a presentation to a panel or group, peep counseling, conflict resolution, leadership group discussion, or writing and essay. My advice, having been through a couple, and having been on the other side, as one who was looking at candicates for LT, Capt and BC jobs, is to have you head screwed on right.

That is to say, know your job. Know your city fire dept's rules and procedures. This is what they refer too for the local candicates. They also know the correct procedures that are used. So don't go into this thinking you can BS these folks. Wrong thing to think.

Study all your rules, procedures and know all your resourses that are available, not only within the fire dept, but the others in the city or county plus any within the state that can be call in if so needed.
