Train and drill with it. Have not used on a call in a while. It's good to know how and stay proficient as some day you might need to use it...

We use them for bus access.A tool we keep at the ready but we don't use it as much as we used to.I seldom thin out the arsenal, you never know when you will need one.T.C.

My department carries one in our rescue, I have never seen it used on a call, it is like everyone else has been saying, a back-up tool just in case for some reason all the main options have been exhausted.

Ditto all of the above. It sits on our rescue truck...

Same here.
It's definetly the fastest tool for cutting light sheet metal that my department has in its toolbox.
We just don't do it on calls a whole heck of a lot. It's always there, and we mess around with it in training. We practice on hoods, roofs, and trunks on the vehicles. Use it to expose the innards of doors to show personnel collision beams, etc.

Our's is pre-connected to the cascade air on the truck (4x6000psi) on a 200' reel and with a flip of a switch, it's on. Have used it several times as of late. Mostly with van's on their sides to make a panel cut and fold the roof down. Works great and have no sawzall blade plunging through the roof.

Got one on the first out squad (ambulance), but haven't used it in a long time......... Don't even think we've trained with it in awhile....

We carry 3 of them, and will use them if needed, but generally the recip. saw can be set up and cutting faster than the air Chisel can be set up. I am also wandering if anybody is phasing out their Air chisel with sheet metal shears, or using the shears along with the chisel.

We have one on each rescue, and have used them a few times. They work good in tight spaces, where you can't get the cutters.

Used for training purposes only....

I've trained with one, but prefer other tools. Reciprocating saws are faster for cutting posts. I prefer a metal claw, like is on my Bihl tool, or on some halligans for cutting sheet metal, like roofs and the sides of pole barns. There's no set-up time - just punch a hole, insert the claw and go. It's as fast as the chisels I've worked with.

Used one to cut a guy out of an over-turned tanker truck(water) that was in a large creek. We were on the steep river bank, and all our sawz-alls are corded. So we used the air chisel...worked great for that.
