Anybody starting to send apparatus to activated alarms with traffic? how about first due unit only?
Figured this could start a good conversation.

In the great upper reaches of fairfield county, we respond a full response to all auto alarms 3 engs, truck, 2 tankers if not hydrant district until other wise notified by dispatch or the first arriving officer. If dispatch informs us that the homeowner states no problem then 1 due engine continues with traffic all other units rtq. If the first officer in has no problem on arrival [smoke, fire] he will down grade the responce to first due with traffic. If the home owner request we do not respond, or alarm company request to cancle, we respond one officer and 1st due engine with traffic to :make sure" . therre is no problem. My dept has been burned several times in this situation. One time we got cancled by the PD so we made out a report stating no problem , rtq. Well 2 months later the homeowner and insurance co came looking for the report , it seems the no problem was that the pd was in there with a garden hose and sevral extinguishers for a kitchen fire, the people had 30K in damage and no report !
