Does anyone have a photo/drawing of a Hayes Aerial device in the stowed and/or raised position? I would like to add this to my Aerial Apparatus Operations class.
I am always seeking old/new/future aerial apparatus photos

I HATE when I go into Dumbass mode.
I am seeking HAYES aerial photos.

Sorry for the confusion. BTW, while Hayes was a common aerial, what was a Bayes aerial? Or was my mispelling an end to your "joke"?
If it's the former, it's not around in my books. If it's the latter, thanks for your non-help. I can only hope your other postings are more informative
Have a GREAT day.

If you use this link: Youngstown Fire Message Board (http://www.youngstownfire.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=2617&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=45) there is a photo of a Hayes aerial from Baltimore.

I have an abundance of photos of old apparatus. Including are some of the Hayes aerial. You must have some books that are old enough to show these photos.

Being nasty to the other person, that was asking you for the correct spelling for the item you were seeking really doesn't help you or your case as for seeking futher information on the Hayes aerial. Firefighters seem to stick with one or the other and don't really like the responses you gave since you missed spell the word and the chap was trying to find out what you were looking for!

I hope some one will relent and give you the information that you desire.

Nasty? Not at all. I had never heard of a Bayes aerial and asked. I then asked if it was a joke. I think you may be inferring something tha "I" did not convey. I am sorry if you assume that my intention was not honorable. If you are offended, I would hope it was for calling MYSELF a dumbass. Que sera sera. Thanx tho for your $.02 I will remember that for the future.

Haven't seen it yet.

Why are you so hard on some one trying to help you?

Not hard on anyone. Actually, I am used to digs and jokes in my fire department, and all the ones I have visited.

With only 4 posts you shouldn't be so hard on the old guys in here.
You have a long time to get caught up and you need to chill sonny.

Long time to catch up on what? I have been in the fire service for 29 years as of March 2004. I am on my way out of the department. The Hayes (1868) that I seek is for one of the courses I am an instructor for in PA. Guess I cam to the wrong forum and step on tender toes. My apologies to the offended and to the rest. I will seek true info elsewhere.
Oh, lighten up. Not everything is a criticism. Maybe you need to remember what firehouse humor is.

I just saw a hayes at the Maryland Fire Museum and it was interesting to see.

I am glad that you have been a member of the fire service for 29 yearsand are on your way out of that department. I will sleep better knowing this. I started in 1957 so I have been around a little longer, seen most fire house humor, been an instructor 4 in my state since NFPA wrote to guidelines and have taught in PA for the PA Fire School.

I retired 2 years ago but stay active in the fire service.
