MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: HS graduate or equivalent. Age 21 by the first day of the academy, tentatively scheduled for February 2005. Vision corrected to 20/30 each eye; cannot be colorblind. Ability to obtain a valid NC Driver’s License. Must successfully complete the Fire Academy, including becoming state certified as an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician). Applications cannot be mailed to applicants nor returned by mail. You must apply IN PERSON. To obtain an application, you must bring with you: (1) certified copy of your criminal background record; (2) certified copy of your driving record from DMV. Both the criminal background record and the driving record must include all addresses and fully cover the past 7 years. Applications may be picked up and returned between September 27 and October 8, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon; and 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Keeter Training Center, 105 Keeter Center Dr., Raleigh, NC.
