I noticed there has'nt been any new post in the last 100 days or so. Was wondering if anyone ever checked in or not?

I think most folks use the MFFA discussion forum on Yahoo.

I don't check it very often, I do wish that we would use it more.
Here is a question for all of you, how does your county distribute the insurance rebate money to your departments?

I come in this part when I have time.
I usually go to the GRANTS section pretty often.

How's everything going down on your end? How are things coming together?

Kinda rough, Boss... Still have about 55% of the rubble still in place and some areas that we're sure we'll find remains of our neighbors. Not a good feeling. My family just lost an 85 y.o. to a broken heart... She just wanted to come home to the Bay and she (and we) had nothing left to go to. She made it about 4 months and just gave up. Alot of people are getting sick with all the crud we were exposed to, and many are dying before their time. Families cooped up in those wonderful, work some of the time FEMA trailers are experiencing bouts of violence that they've never had before, and many of us are still "shell shocked" to one extent or another. Myself, I feel like a part of me died in that house I was in when the storm ate it. And each time I see another obituary in the paper I find myself saying "I shouldn't have left so soon" although I know i nmy heart it wouldn't have made a difference if I had stayed, except to the local funeral home as I would have been a customer if I had... Was pretty ate up with infections by the time I did leave.
But I do see alot of determination and hope in many eyes still. And that's what will bring us through this thing. We're just too damn stubborn to quit!
