Would having two convictions for petty theft, that have been expunged, on your record hurt your chances of getting hired on a fire department. These offenses were 5 almost six years ago. Also, do you have to disclose this info in a background packet.

Many background packets (30 to 40 pages) will ask "have you ever" to certain questions? And, even if they have been expunged.
If you don't reveal them and they are found out, it could be grounds for dismissal from the process.
That being said, they look for patterns. If you make it to the psych they doctor can try to get into your stuff to take the wheels off your wagon. Not a day at the beach. Up to forty percent of firefighter candidates fail the psych. More on that here:
