A chemistry teacher from Freedom High School in Orlando, FL was arressted for teaching his students how to make bombs. He showed them footage of a bomb detonation of his own doing, and even had bomb-making materials in the classroom. He also had a bomb-making book on his desk.

What a dumbass.

Actually this doesn't surprise me. I remember learning in 9th grade science how to make gunpowder and we did in class. Then in 11th grade chemistry we learned how to make moonshine, which we didn't make in class. With the way the world is now after Oklahoma City and 9/11, I'd had hoped this wasn't being done anymore. Silly me of thinking that.

Why do teachers do things like this and make my profession look bad? I find this upsetting. (He looks like an arrogant SOB, doesn't he?)

A tin can full of gunpowder and a fuse can be considered a bomb. I have a feeling this whole thing is being blown out of proportion, and the teacher really wasnt trying to be stupid. We had a advanced chemistry class who seemed to have done something similar.
