two exams on same day

what do you do if there are two exams you want to take on the same day? Do depts allow you to take a makeup? It is for the cities of charlotte and fairfax. thanks

Genarally department's do not let you take make up exams. Probably due to being fair and equal in the civil service process, and it would be an inconveince to give a test on different days. My guess is pick the one you want to work for the most and take that test.Just to be sure i would call them, or read the rules real carefully, you might get lucky.

Another way to look at this is: How often do the departments test? Fairfax tests continously, although if you miss the written, you can't apply for 6 more months. However, if Charlotte only takes apps once every two years, I'd go with Memphis. But, I don't know anything aobut Charlotte, so you need to figure that out for yourself.

FYI, if you can't make a written test date, usually that means you won't test.

I'd take the advice of Eric... if you like both departments equally. As far as I know, Charlotte typically hires once a year.
