With not quite a year since the list was established for the joint test in Indianapolis, I was wondering the situation over there being out of state I get very little news.

IFD hired 45 from the list. They finish recruit school June 30th and start in the companies July 1st. Decatur Twsp. hired some from the list and I think Washington Twsp. backed out of the process before anyone was hired.

Thanks for your reply do yoou know if IFD will be taking anymore in the future, at test time there were a lot of firefighters going to retire.

We are going to lose over 60 FF's by the end of the year and begining of next year. The new class just out will not cover these losses. We are in the process of cutting apparatus to make up for budget shortfalls. They may need to hire again though because we will still be short again starting next year. We are also possibly consolidating Washington Twsp.(North) into IFD. The next class (if it happens) will be smaller. Announcements on cuts should be coming in the next few months or sooner.
