I am set to take the National Registry exam on sept. 12 for my Basic. Does anybody know of any study guides or books that might be useful to help me study for it. Also if there are any other ideas that might help me prepare for the test they would be much appreciated. Thank you.

The best advice I can give you is just relax.
I took it about 5 yrs ago and if I remember it just basic common sense you made through class right so you have the skills just relax and let it flow.
Do not read to much into the written part of the test just go with the question do not read anything into it.

A good place to get a prep book is amazon.com if you feel you need something else but I would just use my book.

Good Luck

Study, study, study...... Study your practicals til your sick of them. then turn around and do it again. as far as the writen goes? look on the net for emt practice tests and go through them. might have to pay a little fee but, if you arent good at tests then it is a good tool......Good luck......

I had good luck with the Barron's series of books (used 'em for my -B and -P) so I'd be happy to recommend them as a good prep series. However, I wouldn't use them exclusively--if you've got the dough, buy/borrow/check out from the library as many different study guides as you can since a series of books may be stronger or explain difficult material in a different way than another series.
