Hey guys, have any of you looked into the Iraq job offers? If so, what can you tell me about it and have any of you done this? If so I would like to speak with you. I am currently a fulltime firefighter, but this has sparked my interest. Thanks!

I just worked a year over there and liked it a lot. I worked with a good group of guys and the money was great.

Have a friend over there now that I talk to on the phone with. If you dont mind people trying to blow you up then you will be fine. He said everynight the extremist through grenades and stuff over the wall.

I looked into it and none of my California State Fire Marshall certifications were recognized by DOD.

Paul....I hear Dave is going back to Iraq is that true?? Speaking of Iraq, I checked into some of us going from Idaho and there was only one problem.....Our wives said "No Way".

would deploying out to iraq w/ wakenhunt or kbr for a year or 2 help in the hiring process in NJ? i guess to be more accurate, would it give you 'veterance preference' or any other credit points... ?

There is only 1 way to get veterans preference, you have to be a VET. That means actually serving in the armed forces, not just working a contract job somewhere dangerous.
