Hi, I'm currently a Volunteer Firefighter and a career EMT. I am interested in becoming a career firefighter. I have been doing this for about eight years and have a lot of training (testing for FF1 and FF2 this month). I know that I can physicaly perform all the duties without endangering myself or others, and plenty of my comrads will attest, however I have a medical condition known as Hip Displacement. My question is that even if I pass an agillity test will I have any trouble getting hired after the medical exam itself?

Well has it bothered you while working a shift as an EMT or on a call with your FD? If not I would say you should have no problem and the doctor doing the medical exam thinks you are capable and see's no problem with it then you should be fine.
