I just responded to my first fire and it only solidified my passion to become a firefigther. I can't imagine living for, or dying for, anything else. What a feeling and I didn't even get to do that much, but this is where it's at and I just had to share it with a group of men and women that can relate. :D :D

Congratulations on your first fire and welcome to the unique life of a firefighter....but remember one thing....there ain't nothing worth dying for on the fireground......

Congrats, but Dwayne's right. Let's leave the thing about dying out of the equation, ok? ;)

Everyone should live the policy of"Everyone goes home after this run,and we leave no one behind inside."
I bet you made a couple mistakes like I did on my first run.If you did,and even if you didn't,you should remember what went wrong and don't do it again.
I also sign up for every training school that the department will pay for and not just for the travel.
I am taking my IFSAC Skills test this weekend for FFI and II,maybe even the HazMat Awareness skills too if they can squeeze anyone else in.
I'm trying to get as much training as possible and hoping that I don't forget what I've learned in the past so I'll have options if and when I advance in my department.
