My name is Jeff Smith i'm 20 years old, I'm a firefighterII paramedic. Curentley employed at TRI-STATE fire protection district as a contract medic, and Willow Springs fire/rescue. I did all of my schooling right out of highschool and i have to tell ya i love this job. It has made me appreciate so much and realize that i can do so much in so little time. My only thing now is that i have only taken one test and i did not meet their criteria for the job. The test consisted of a listening comprehension and a TON of psych questions it was two packets of crap. I have no idea what i did good on or what i sucked at. Does anyone have any tips on these tests or how to answer or what to look at or how to remmeber the third number in a series of 7 numbers it is all new to me and i felt ill prepard when i took the test. A fellow brother told me to buy a book at borders which helps you study for the tests.

I appreciate all the help thanks a ton

Jeff

do you know what company did the test? It sounds to me like a CPS test. Check this site out it goes over some of the most commonly seen fire dept. written tests http://www.chabotfire.com/Written.htm

Take as many test you can possibly take. You will see yourself get better at them.

Hey everyone thanks for the help it was much appreciated. Anyways i have been trying to take tests but my age is in a way holding me back, I'm only 20 and i was a firefighterII paramedic at 19 so i have a while to get on so no worries and MY DREAM JOB is testing soon so hopefully Keeping my fingers crossed i pass the test and get hired. Its for chicago and i know there will be 9 million other people who have the same dream as me but i think i want it a little more. So wish me luck and thanks again for the help.
