The following are some of the common reasons fire applicants fail psychological exams

• Applicants who have trouble controlling their emotions and tempers.

• Applicants who show a disregard for others feelings.

• Applicants who may question a supervisor’s authority or have a problem with that authority.

• Individuals who have an anti-social personality and prefer to work alone in situations.

• Applicants who show a high degree of anxiety and could have difficulty dealing with that anxiety in emergency situations.

• Applicants who are not pleasant to their coworkers.

• Individuals who are rude and caustic.

• Individuals who are very rigid and refuse to be flexible in their thoughts and actions.

• Applicants who make their own decisions regardless of what the team is trying to accomplish.

Some of those reasons sound like me.
In reality, I am a guy that does like people and can work with them,I do have problems with co workers that don't show up when it's their turn to be on call and I have to cancel my plans to cover for them,or when I'd be trying to count a store's daily reciepts and a cashier would be trying to get me to make change for her not understanding that I was trying to make an accurate count and not make a mistake that cost the company any money.
So,I have a reputation as a cast iron axehole who doesn't care.
When I drove a wheelchair bus carrying mentally handicapped people,I developed two methods of dealing with people. My mentally handicapped passengers,I'd treat knowing that they weren't at fault for not remembering why they have to go to certain doctors but my co workers,I'd expect to understand that they were there to fill scheduled shifts as was I.Since there was nothing certifiably wrong with them and they were driving the short bus instead of riding it,I expected them to know what work ethic was.
I got on a volunteer fire department because all they were looking for is criminal records.I wonder what the response will be when Memphis,Germantown,Bartlett and Collierville Tennessee's departments get a look see at me through the eyes of my references.

Hey,you'd be kind of short tempered if you kept getting assigned to do other people's work in addition to your own with no notice after making plans for the evening.
But,like I said,I'm only that way with people that earn my withering looks and even THAT gets me in trouble.
I am the kind of guy used to working 12 hour shifts on the river, then going out and playing security guard for another 4.
Long hours are really nothing to me and I expect my co workers to be able to work the same.
One trick I used when I drove the aforementioned wheelchair bus was if I had to cover someone's on call runs, the next day,I was in the boss' office getting paid for it(Cash on the barrel, boss)and then running down the driver who should have been there and informing them to pay me the same amount before the end of the day.
Suddenly finding out that their little expectation that the OT hawg wanted to be paid for his time started making in roads in expecting me to be able to suddenly take their slack.

My old taxi company had a saying that the wheelcair bus drivers were just one trip carrying 07s to their workshops away from riding the bus instead of driving it.
BTW,since when was running into buildings that everyone else wanted to get the H out of ever considered to be a rational act?

And here all this time I thought you failed a psychological exam because you were crazy....
