PUBLIC SAFETY | FIRE/RESCUE OPERATIONS
The Colleton County Fire and Rescue department was established in January 1994 to provide countywide protection and rescue services for the unincorporated area of Colleton County. The single fire district was created by an act of County Council, combining 16 independent community based volunteer fire districts. The single district is a combination career/volunteer department with 288 volunteer members and a career staff of 21. We operate 23 fire stations and a fleet of 82 vehicles.
The department also provides an array of services to the community including Fire Education / Prevention Activities, Fire Inspections / Code Enforcement, Fire Suppression, Fire Investigation / Arson Detection, Hazardous Materials Mitigation, Rescue / Estrication, and BLS Medical Response (non-transport)/ The agency works closely with the local EMS and Law Enforcement agencies to serve the 1050 square miles of Colleton County.

anybody know anything about the department?
I know they charged me $450.00 for transport, them $9.00 per mile for another $117.00 and because I don't live in thier county another $200.00. I have a lot of respect for rescue squads, especially volunteer squads, which the majority of Colleton is, but not when they do this to people.
