I just passed my written exam for a Battalion Chief position. The next step in the process is an Assessment Center, including a tactical exercise. I have been studying and working on the tactical exercise. The dilemma I am facing is that my department hasn’t hired or tested for this position in almost 10 years, so there isn’t much institutional memory or learning to pass on. I remember some of my Captain’s assessment from 7 years ago, but not much. I have done several goggle searches on the topic but really haven’t found anything that would be helpful. I am looking for some resources to help in this endeavor. Any suggestions as to how I can prepare for this would be helpful.
