Rookie Season

Hey everyone, this is my first post. Im from cleveland ohio. i have had some training in wildland firefighting but right now my red card has expired and i will need to retake the pack test. any good websites where it will have some sites and dates posted to take a test? After that my goal is to head out ANYWHERE(hopefully as far west as i can) in the united states for the 2007 season. Im looking for a job that would be anywhere from 2 weeks to a year. Im a 240 hr. level firefighter and EMT-B but along with the red card thats as far as my training goes. So i guess my question is where do i start to get a job for the 2007 season?

You can start by filling out the online applications with AVUE (http://www.avuedigitalservices.com) (Forest Service) and the DOI Firejobs (http://www.firejobs.doi.gov/) (BLM, NPS, BIA).

After you do that, pick places you want to work and CALL them... talk to the captains, battalion (or whatever they call themselves at that location). Get to know them and them to know you. They may have a special way to hire you if they want you.
