Here in Downtown Maryland, there seems to be a change in the weather patterns. A drying trend has been in place for a few weeks, and is starting to be noticed. Additionally, this trend appears to be settling in for a longer term run. Projections for the period thru the end of June show a good possibility of above normal Temperatures and below normal Precipitation. Looks like El Nino rides again........ If this pattern holds, as forcast, the Mid-Atlantic may start seeing Fires like those of the late 1990s again....... Stay Tuned....

Same here in NJ. We only received a few dustings of snow. And the 10 day outlook sees no storms coming. Last time was saw this type of dry winter was the winter of 2001-2002. (Our last decent drought). And one of our busiest spring fire seasons in recent memory.

Agreed. We're close enough that we could enjoy(?) the same weather situations on a regular basis. Since we're in the same Forestry Mutual Aid group maybe we'll see each other in the Pine Barrens......
