I have been asked to make a powerpoint presentation for the Hand tools unit in the S-130 Class. I have been looking up info and pics for the last couple of hours and thought I would give this a try. I am looking for information and pictures. If anybody knows of some good sites, reference material, pictures or anything else please let me know. Pictures and bigger files can be sent to me at jesika@firehousemail.com .
Thanx

If you are teaching the NWCG 130/190 class there already is a powerpoint for the hand tools. You really should be using the DVD/CD's that come with the class material.
If you are just looking supplement it, I probably have some pictures saved around here somewhere.

The reason I was asked to make one is because they apparently don't have one. I would have liked to use the one that came with it but there wasn't. I don't remember having one in the class when I took it three years ago either. I have done some reasearch and have some pics. but the more I get the better of I will be. I appreciate all the help. Thank you.

If you order the class material from NWCG it comes with the CD programs.
I am looking for the website for you, the class stuff is really cheap.
Or I can try and email you the program, but it is a very large file.

I have to Powerpoints for the class, but they do not have one for the tools unit, that I know of. I have all the others on another computer. The instructors want to do a classroom portion of the tools then the hands on. Most do just a hands on portion.

Check some of the fire catalogs, cascade, wildfire, supply cache, national etc. They usually have pictures of their tools that you can right click and "borrow" (copy / paste). Generally not the best quality by the time it is blown up and on the screen but it works. Also if you can get ahold of a digital camera (and who can't these days) just take some pics of the tools in your cache, you probably don't have an example of everything, but do you really need to cover obscure regional tools not used in your area?
