Thought I'd share some great photos

Lost Valley Fire, Santa Cruz Mts 2006 [24 hours before the 5 USFS FF got burned to death in Souther Cal] . The shots were taken from our position on the ridge. We had 11 engines in place to try and protect 110 homes while another 10 engine crews 4 hand crews 2 tankers and 2 helicopters hit the fire from below. They held it just short of the manzanita covered slope below the homes. Red Flag day

I use to work in those mts in the summer. I have since moved to idaho. Where was that fire exactly?

Deer Creek Drainage, east side of Castle Rock State Park about 2 miles below hwy 35 and 1.5 miles north of Bear Creek rd.

wow that was pretty close to where i worked. I worked just north of boulder creek maybe 5 mins north on highway 9. Now i want to go back to visit. nice pics
