I looking for a federal position as Engine Captain in So. Cal. I have 10 years wildland & 4 yrs. Structure fire/EMS. I currently live in WA, and am trying to get info. on where I should look for work. Being a firefighter, I want to go on a lot of wildland fires, but I also really want to be on an engine w/ SCBA's, and perform my civic duty w/ EMS, and be able to back-up my fellow structure firefighters as the need occurs. Any help would be appreciated.

CDF is ravaging the ranks of the USFS in California so now is a good time to be looking at an upper level position.

You will need to be redcarded at a minimum of ENGB, to qualify. You will also need a class B license. All the forests in California have SCBA on their engines, a minimum of 3 some have one for each crew person (5).
