This looks very interesting. Probably very costly but interesting. Something like this may be able to save many lives.

If the fire vents through a window where that is deployed I wonder if it compromises the cables, making it useless?

or if the roof happens to give-way, then the whole apparatus would pummel to the ground. Good idea though.

I don't have the energy to search, but we have done this here at least twice. Once with some slide thing and once with this very same contraption. The actual inventor came on here and was beside himself that most posters thought it wa the most ridiculous waste of money they had ever seen. Especially for something that does nothing to reduce rescue times. How much of a sprinkler system do you think you could put in that high rise for whatthey contration cost?
