I would never even think to say I've seen it all, but if I had, this one would have shown me otherwise. Had a guy get his penis stuck in a 1" diameter hole in .125" steel, coated in plastic. UOA it had already been tried to lubricate it and squeeze the blood back through to the other side of the steel, along with various other attempts. We ended up using a recip saw to cut the metal free from the wall it was attached to, then cutting as close to the trapped member as possible with the recip, then cutting the remaining 1-1.5" with a dremel. The entire process lasted about 6 hours from the time of entrapment to my extrication engine being called to patient being transported to ER to my extrication engine being called to the ER to removal. Anyone else had a similar situation that was resolved in less time with different means? Due to trapped blood, it ended up looking to be about 3" diameter by the time we got it out.

Can you ask your friend what type of injection that was? I'd like to have another trick or two in my toolbox should I ever run across something like that again.

The only thing I can think of is that she may not have actually injected anything, but maybe drew off fluid/blood.
At that point, there is no physiological response that is keeping the penis there, and there is none that could cause it to release. If there is access to the other side of the object through which the penis has been inserted, the only thing I can think of is to try to draw off blood or fluid to help not only in the rescue effort, but also help save the pt some use of his penis later on. Another concern after that long an extrication is that if you DO get the penis out suddenly, the pt could crash just the same as extrication from many other situations. That septic blood in the penis could be enough to cause systemic shock.

ok i have to explain better:the guy was in his jacuzzi, touching his male anatomy and then his penis was stuck in the syphon of the jacuzzi,so the EMT made an injection to make the penis smaller.and then to help the patient.
and sorry,my post is like a porn scenario, lol.

San Francisco rescue guys showed me their "Penis Ring Removal Kit", which they carry on the Rescues.
1 Whizzer saw
1 Stainless Steel tongue depressor bent to conform
1 tube of Vaseline
Rubber gloves and eye protection
They get guys with rings stuck all the time. Lube up the depressor and work it under the ring as a protective backing plate. Carefully cut with the whizzer while using water to keep things cool. The depressor I saw in their kit must have had 25-30 notches on it.
I gave this same information to the "Rescue Me" TV show when they needed help on the same issue and they used it!

When you were talking about that kind of rescue, I thought you were meaning like from the movie There's Something About Mary, LOL.

We had a teenager with his stuck in a shampoo bottle. It swelled up on the inside an needed to be cut out. We cut the plastic shampoo bottle with side cuts.
