We use a "Mountain Skateboard" for our weekly cleanings. This is not for rescue if that is what you meant?

Added a platform to get the "skater" off the wheels. You can just buy the wheel sets online and make your own board though.

Jim,

Thanks for the info. Building one looks like the way im going to have to go, I have searched all over the web and cannot find anything that is marketed. The ones we used on the last job I was on were home made and they worked good. I like the wheels on this one but I think they may take a inch or two from your clearence. What size pipes are you using yours in, and it sounds like you are using them for maintenance or repair, what do you do place a small platform on top of this board or did you just use the wheels and build your own?

What exactly are you using yours for?

Thanks

We used 3 regular skate boards joinsd togather with some cabinet door hinges. They easily folded up for both entry and storage. The three wide demension makes it very stable for pt. transport through tunnles, and the hinges allow it to conform to the radious of the tunnel. By using regular skate board wheels, it has a low profile.

We use them for weekly cleaning on our airdryer recycle tube. It's the horizontal one in the picture and is 3ft DIA.

The scary part is that until I joined the CSE team and pointed it out, they were going into this tube for years without a harness or anklets of anykind!

On both ends is a 90 deg turn down for 30 ft into a fan motor. With no exit hatch even if they survived the fall.
