To any and all who view this thread,

My department is currently in the works of spec'ing a new tanker. We were awarded a grant so the money is fixed and "tight". We are a small department. We think we have a pretty good idea of what we want and what we "need" out of this particular piece of apparatus. I am here to ask if there is anything that we may want to take into consideration when spec'ing that others (you) may have learned the hard way or through trial-and-error.

I am also at a point where I am not sure whether I want to support the portion of our department that wants to see ALL LED's on this, or the portion of our department that wants a combination of LED's and strobes. I understand LED's draw less current and are inherently easier on the electrical system, but I wonder about the LED's being too focused to project their light as well around corners and in a tight "down-town" setting where there are a lot of large buildings.

Also, I have recently heard about something called "Super LED's". Can anyone comment on this as an actual product and if so, their take on performance -vs- cost?

Thanks in advance!
