Question SKED

We just bought a SKED. Should we;

Use the manufacturer straps with the buckles for all purposes; or,

Add webbing for rope rescue purposes and use the mfg straps for general purposes; or,

Toss the mfg straps and use webbing all the time?

The straps dont really do anything but hold the unit closed for the smallest possible profile. So, there is really no need to change them over to rescue grade webbing unless you have a burning desire. The rigging is all through the eyelets or the holes in the undersides (horizontal lift).
