Post Equipment Wish List

I'm working on a year 2000 equipment list for confined space.

Among the many items that we are considering purchasing are; a confined space multi-gas meter, and a lock-out tag-out kit.

If your fire department, rescue squad, or tactical unit is using a multi-gas meter I'd like you to tell me about it; make/model, power source, durability, names of gases you monitor, and the frequency of it's use. Also let me know all the pro and cons about it too!

Right now our "lock-out tag-out" kit consists of tags, sections of chain, some padlocks, and Joe. (Joe's an "oldtimer" - DO NOT call him that - who shows up for everything, and he usually sits and makes sure no one turns switches and valves on us). We don't want to replace Joe, but we would like to get a complete ready-to-go kit. What kind do you have? If your kit is homemade and it is working well for you; what do you carry besides tags, chain, padlocks, and your version of Joe?

Thanks!

Alan

Cool

EPFD-AL,
Greetings, and thanks for insightful responses to other posts that I have made. To try and help you out.....not that we want to upset 'JOE'--

In regard to a viable lockout/tagout system,
Check out this website- www.labsafety.com

They have a large selection of catalogs. What you want is located in their safety catalog. You can use the site's search engine to help you. Just type "lockout/tagout" I tried it already- it should bring you to what you need. You can also request a paper, hard copy of their catalogs from their website.

As for multi-gas meters; sorry can't be much help there. But if I find any info, I'll pass it along.

See you around.....
