Question Out of service criteria

I know this is going to sound strange, but I'm looking for a list of criteria to use when taking an engine, or other unit out of service.

Does anyone out there use such a thing?

Thanks in advance

We do not have a list but the following things come to mind.

1. Any safety item fom brakes and steering to seatbelts. Minor items such as an inop light bulb should be repaired as soon as possible but lack of tail or brake lights would be a major safety item.

2. Any mechanical item that results in the vehicle not being able to perform its designed purpose. Also included are major fluid leaks.

3. Damage to the body or interior that presents a hazard to personnel on or working aroud the vehicle.
