I've been on the job going on six years. We have five stations with the sixth expected to open late next year. Bowling Green is a very progressive department with great leadership. We run 2 engines, 3 rescue engines, 2 quints, 1 tower and 1 shift commander. We also have 1 haz-mat, 1 brush, and one ARFF that are cross manned by shift personnel. The new station is going to house an engine. We run a minimum of 26 personnel per shift. The benefits are great and the pay isn't too bad either. I think we have a great department consisting of some of the best firefighters I have ever met. I'm not sure how many are going to be hired. I've heard possibily 5. Since I've been on, we've hired around thirty due to retirements and adding companies. I think they are going to hire for the sixth station next year but this should still be a good year.
