Default Starting an Auxiliary

How do I go about starting a Ladies Auxiliary? What all do they usually do? I was thinking of fundraising, creating camaraderie among the wives, providing drinks/food during long calls and whatever else might be needed. Would love to hear ideas, feedback, etc.

Talk to the chief to see if they would be interested. What we do is support the firemen with food/drinks on long calls ,we help clean the department,we cook for the association dinners,we help the men with fund raisers and we have our own fund raisers. We help the men with the local 4th of July bash,we help make fruit baskets for the elderly at Christmas.
