I just updated an Elevator Training course I developed 5 years ago. I have submitted a new article to the Fire Chief magazine about Elevators this week.There have been more changes to elevator technology, equipment and codes in the past few years than ever before. There are now elevators which travel not only vertically but horizontally as well. Also, there are new MLR's - MachineRoomLess elevators which present new dangers to fire personnel attempting to extricate trapped passengers.
