    Default ??? About GSAEXCESS

In another thread about AFG grants a poster by the name of pikepole25 made a comment that you could acquire a truck from GSAEXCESS. I have looked up and found the site but I haven't found any clear information about how you look to see what is available, or how to get equipment.

Does anyone have any information about this?

Primary route for a FD to requistion GSA or DOD surplus is thru your state forester.

For info on DOD surplus search this forum under subject FEPP

Smile Federal excess in New York

In New york State , GSA excess is managed by the State Government federal surplus office, You have to be registered with the office in order to pick up the equipment with a service charge-minimal. link is posted below--some of the equipment is junk, some is in excellant condition

As stated above some items are well used junk - other items are in good working order. In the last year we have aquired a brush truck - laptop computer - 10k generator - treadmill. All items were in good condition - we just had to go get the items.

Default Options when you don't have a State Forester?

Our state does not have a really strong state forester... due to lack of funding.

    Any suggestions?

There should be a contact list on the GSAXCESS site, I usually search myself then contact my state person.
