Paramedic schools in the DFW, TX area?

EMT-B looking for paramedic schools in the dallas/fort worth area. I know about TCC's program but it is a 16 month program and was hoping to find something shorter.

Also, how difficult is it to get a job at a fire department once you are a paramedic?

There are several choices for paramedic school...brookhaven community college, ut southwest which is usally full from dallas sending there recruits there, and collin county community college which has 16 month programs as well as 6 month. From what i know its easier to get a job on a fire dept once you have your emt-p cert rather than your fire cert.

how is weatherford community college's reputation for their paramedic program? what is the pass rate on the national exam?
