    Default Station AED

We are looking into grants for an in station AED for use by members and during rentals. We would need a cabinet and AED. We dont want to go federal, and thought perhaps that local level foundations and business or large charitable trusts may fund such a thing. We just want to expedite the process. Does anybody have any ideas?

BTW we are in the Philadelphia/Montgomery County PA area.

I'd go with Kurt on that one Jamie really knows his stuff. If that doesn't work I've heard that local hospitals are sometimes willing to do a matching 50/50 or will just outright buy the unit for you. My guess is though by the time you get off the phone with Jamie you're gonna have one.

Thanks for the replies. We are very close in location to SARS and some local hospitals. Has anybody had luck with outpatient doctors offices, such as in a medical business park of single story offices? I know we have some PENN surgery centers and a dermatologist along with other medical offices in this park. If so, how would you go about contacting them with your proposal?

A few years back we were able to get a grant from one of are local insurance agency for a AED to be used by the company, so check with your local agents maybe there still some money out there. I think the company that we got the money from was Prudential. Good luck

The first link that popped up when I Googled AED Grant was this one:

Also check with ALLSTATE & State Farm & the hartford insurance companies for funding. All offer grants to 501c3 c non profits.
Check with your local EMS service to see what brand they are using and maybe they can assist with making a deal with their vendor.
    Good luck

    Thumbs up

We received two AED's from area United Way. Make sure you mention that you would like to have a presentation with your new AED with the media. Good luck

I looked into that one a couple of months ago. What it basically comes down to is you get a discounted system depending on the choice of AED's on the site.

The grant program ended in 2006, so it's just a discounted price as hatch mentioned.
