I was thinking of posting something myself. I hope Mike and all his people are safe. For a small Volly FD they have been hammered lately.

In case anyone hasn't heard yet, this just in from The Secret List:
Thoughts and prayers to FF Casey's friends, family, and department. We have been advised that Firefighter Tyler Casey of Seneca, Missouri has succumbed to his injuries and has died in the Line of Duty.
Firefighter Casey was critically injured while assisting his community during the storms and subsequent tornadoes in Newton County on Saturday evening.
No funeral details have been finalized, but we shall pass that along
as soon as we know. Our sincere condolences to Firefighter Casey's
family and friends.
These tornados are responsible for inuring over 200 people and
killing at least 22 folks in three states so far. At least 15 deaths
occurred in southwestern Missouri, in Oklahoma at least six people
were killed, and at least one person died during the storms in
Georgia.
Catch-22, our thoughts and prayers are with you guys in southern Missouri too.SFPD Member MABAS Division 47
Told my wife I'm at work. Told my boss I'm sick. I'm really at the fire station.

While I appreciate you guys' thoughts and prayers for me and my guys/gals, please focus some for those who need them more than us. From the state fire marshal's office...
"The Division of Fire Safety has received word of the passing of Firefighter Tyler Casey of Seneca, Missouri. Firefighter Casey succumbed to injuries received while assisting his community during the storms and subsequent tornadoes in Newton County on Saturday evening."
From the information I've recieved, FF Casey had stopped to warn a family that a tornado was bearing down on them and successfully got them to cover before the tornado hit his vehicle. He had been on life-support since Saturday night.
As for us, we're doing pretty good. You've probably heard we had one fatality, and were lucky that we only had 2 severe injuries from a van that was hit by the tornado that went through our area. As Mike posted in the other thread, we were very fortunate that the track was just outside of the city. About 3/8 of a mile south of the track was a high school that had 200+ people in it attending graduation.
I did have a couple of our personnel that were affected, but that's just home damage. They're homes are still standing, but are minus some roof. I do have one new guy that we're working on CISD with, so keep him in your thoughts. He's the one that found our fatality, the sight of which he's having some problems with still yet.
Thanks for your concern, thoughts, and prayers guys, we do appreciate it.
As a side note (and applicable to the forum!), the Polaris Rangerand new truck (quick attack/rescue) we've recieved from grants were invaluable to our operations. Both were able to get into areas no one else could get into due to debris, mud, etc. Without them we would have taken considerably longer to account for everyone in the 16+ miles of our district that was affected. Thanks to all of you guys who helped out with both!!
Back to work....
