    I have heard a rumor that Eglin AFB Fire Department is going all civilian, can anyone confirm this.

    I heard the same rumor; nothing confirmed yet. I also heard that Hill and Offut are or are going all civilian as well.

    Just my assumption, but I think the stateside bases will become strictly civilian within a few years and all military will be overseas; easier to deploy (less cost effective)

    i ve heard the same. with contract ff in some deployed locations using 3rd country nationals and a few us citizens.
