I'm kinda excited for the event. But i'm swamped with work getting it ready for the weekend. Back to my cave I go.

Jake, we need to stay in contact more than a month after the event this year, lol.

The Oregon squad we were going to bring was put back into regular service... So we can not bring it. We are instead going back to the original plan and will probably end up bringing this - http://www.northwoodfire.com/trucks/s_814.html - It's Northwood's backup ambulance/rehab unit.

70 and sunny for Saturday. Wow... Still no rain in the forecast. That's a first.

We do not normally. But on that specific scene, the wind wasn't cooperating and we were having trouble opening the hood of the car on the bottom so the one crew on scene pulled foam out. That's the first fire in my four mock disasters that we ended uo using foam.

So, this mock disaster deal? Is it supposed to play on a Mass-Casualty Incident?

I remember doing such an exercise in 2006, except it was in San Diego, CA. All of the CA FEMA USAR Teams were activated to the mock incident, and we got to tear apart an abandoned Kaiser-Permanente Hospital. Hooah! Drilling tunnels through the rubble was an interesting experience too. Nice to see all the guys compete from the various Task Force Teams.

There is at least one mass casualty during the day but also "normal" ems and fire runs to go on.
