Just out of curiosity, was Sutphen a possible choice, in any capacity???

    Nice rig though.

With a truck like that some people might think Bridgeton is a real city , not just a P stop on the way to N. Conway,

Sutphen was a top contender. However, they failed to submit a bid.The product you see is the results of about two years of thought process. As I mentioned earlier,if we(I) don't get this right,I'd better get buried in another country. The thing that impresses me about the Smeal is the 99' horizontal reach(on a 100' ladder).I like what I saw at the factory too as far as fit and finish.Very well made bodies. From my post in Dave's "Tell me about Seagrave" thread: "A local department just took delivery of a 125' Smeal ladder truck. I had the opportunity to look it over and came away thoroughly impressed."

Tim, if yours comes out as well as this one as I'm sure that it will, you'll be well pleased. They did a good job.

Hehe,In a word;NO. Chassis was due in Snyder last Friday.Haven't heard from either of my salesmen if that happened.Obviously, without the chassis we aren't going to make record leaps forward.Assuming everything stays close to schedule,a March completion is anticipated. T.C.

Hell if I'd known that TC, I coulda made a slight diversion and checked it out. Our guy says Smeal's only about 50 miles from Omaha where we flew in and out of Mon-Wed.

Tell me about it! We got a taste of the weather on Tuesday, it was 17 F when we got to the factory and a balmy 24F when we left, though it was 40 in Omaha that evening. Our January final inspection will probably require checked bags to bring the Carhartt's.
