    Smile Hello from Eastern Oregon

Hi, I just wanted to introduce myself. I am relatively new to the fire service and have been learking here for quite a while. Its amazing how much to learn and can be learned just by listening.
Our dept is all volunteer with our Chief only 1/3 paid. We have both city and rural fire engines housed in the same fire hall.
After 9/11 I tried to reenlist but was told my age was now a factor. There were radio comercials asking for more volunteers for the dept. Even though we, my husband and I, are past our prime, we are still healthy enough to do some good, so we joined. That was three short years ago. It is a privilage to be able to serve.
    Thanks, Ronda

sparly, where 'bouts on the east side if I may ask? I'm in the same neck of the woods, here in the desert.
Stopping controlled burning DOES NOT stop the burning, only the control!
