I'm looking into possible firefighting or firefighting-related career options. Specifically, wildfire-fighting. Living in Idaho, we had the most per acreage and amount of wildfires last year. Born in California, I've known the effects of wildfires, and it's obviously no different in Idaho.
Here's my situation: I have an intraoccular lense in my left eye. For those of you that do not know what that is, it is a surgical implant in place of the natural lense. My vision is corrected to 20/20 in my right eye, but NOT in my left. I do not know the exact correction of it, but my driving license does say 'requires corrective lenses'.
Does anyone know the specific visual requirements for firefighting-related careers/positions?
This damn handicap has kept me from reaching almost every dream I had. =/
