I recently graduated the fire academy at tri-c, i have my Ohio 240 card, and was wondering how and if possible to transfer to another state. I figure with nothing holding me back I can have more options if I apply out of state. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks Shrek

State Certificate Transfer

You would have to contact the state's fire division in order to find out what transfers and what doesn't if they even accept transfers at all. Each state has different policies so it's up to you to contact each division of fire to make sure.

Cert Transfer
Does your current certificate have an IFSAC or Pro Board seal on it? After traveling around a little bit I've found most states in the midwest to all be very different on how they do things. In some I could transfer, in some they wanted me to challenge tests from step 1 to get certified. Make sure you find out who administrates if your are going elsewhere, it can be the tech school system, state fire marshals office, or an independent board. Good luck.

Keep ALL your paper work from the school. Get transcripts and such. And as already stated, each state is different.
