Any news on the 2008 AFG process?

I have picked up pieces of information from other threads but I am hoping we could maintain a thread just for AFG information. Has anyone heard anything recently? Are the Peer Reviews done? When do you think the 1199As will start filtering out? Someone said they expect first round announcements to be out by late July or August. If that is the case the first round winners should be hearing something soon.

If, and that is a big if, they hold true to their statement we shoudl satrt seeing 1199a updates in first weeks of July with awards several weeks after that. OK, I'm starting the betting pool for first round of awards. I am taking Aug 22.

My bet is on August 29th. We could call it a Labor Day Surprise! Of course I would like to see news before that but I am willing to bet that the system slows down for a week or two sometime between now and then.

I am going to be really optimistic and shoot for the first round on July 25. I am also going to estimate 475 awards being announced that day. Keep safe.

Upon credible source July, maybe even early July. No, peers are not totally done even after three weeks. Should be by late July. Vehicles are complete but about 2K of ops. grants left to read. Suppose to start dishing out even though not all totally reviewed.

I think your credible source is fairly accurate, since the info about peer not being completed is just about confirmed. Are you saying awards beginning late July, or 1199 process?

Wondering. If one does not pass the computer or make it through Peer review do they send out Dear Johns right away?

Usually around the 3-4th round of awards the computer DJs will come out. Other DJs after the peer review are scatterred and can be all the way till February before the final round of DJs hits.

I woke up today from a dead sleep while dreaming. My dream featured 1199 updates being found today and I located 3 of mine.

Sanity is over-rated. Tried it, didn't like it, sticking to abnormality. How else could we handle what we do?

Tuesday's were the magic days most years (and continued to be throughout most of 2007), except the first 1199's dropped on a Friday last year.

This does not explain why I went nuts on a Monday this year, however.

I will be flying out to Vegas on June 25th, then traveling down to Atlanta, finally coming home to Pennsylvania on July 8th. My brother is getting married on July 12th back in Johnstown...so Im going with July 11th. Will be a good time if that happens...oh and if we are lucky enough.

I have an internal source that looked through their computer system and saw my departments request went through and completed the peer review already. There is supposed to be another peer review in July. They also told me that awards would be coming soon, so I'm thinking the week of July 7th-11th. But they work for the government, so how much can we really trust them?!!

Just to get the oddsmakers moving again, looked it up from 2007 in the postings. First mention was Andy (Pelican631) who picked up the email at 0-God-hundred on the 27th, meaning it showed up on the 26th in the dropdown. A Tuesday of course. Round 1 was July 27th, 30 days later.

Will we be up a week since the app period was earlier, meaning this Tuesday could be the day?! Will it be the 23rd? Or will they wait until after the 4th of July?! Oh the Humanity!
