OK, here's some more Ca. news for you..
REGIONAL: BAY AREA TOPS THE U.S. FOR HEALTH AND FITNESS
If metropolitan areas in America competed in a game of survival of the fittest, Bay Area residents might be the last ones standing, according to a report released by American College of Sports Medicine.
Metropolitan Seattle, Wash., residents would put up a good fight, just barely coming in second.
A panel of 26 health and physical activity experts statistically measured the state of health and fitness for 16 metropolitan areas through a program called "American Fitness Index.''
The metropolitan region in the Bay Area included Oakland, San Francisco, Fremont and Hayward.
The area scored above average on personal health indicators, such as the percentage of citizens who exercise regularly.
The report also concluded that nearly 32 percent of its citizens eat five or more fruits and vegetables per day. It also found that more people living in the area are likely to have health insurance and less likely to have chronic health problems.
Spokesman for the program Ryan Puckett said the most glaring difference in the Bay Area, because the report took neighboring cities in mind as well, was fewer smokers and many amenities such as parks, athletic facilities and public transit systems.
Boston, Mass., placed third and Detroit, Mich., came in last.Last edited by localtrainer75; 05-31-2008 at 03:26 PM.

I see a potential job offer for Bou... West Coast correspondent for FH.com!
"The education of a firefighter and the continued education of a firefighter is what makes "real" firefighters. Continuous skill development is the core of progressive firefighting. We learn by doing and doing it again and again, both on the training ground and the fireground."

First of all you dont get it, this is a public forum..have your opinion all you want, but thats all you own...actually, generic or not speaks to the area, which so happens to be an area where many of us live and work. If you dont like my posts, just like you seem to have an issue with FDNY all the time, which you dont know a thing about, perhaps you need to quit taking offense to peoples posts..

Ummm...You brought up FDNY, not me. I guess your just looking for a fight. Please take the chip off of your shoulder and post the non-fire related material in the Off-Duty section.
Please post something fire related or West Coast here.
Thanks.

I don't like it when the woman has more muscles than me. A woman is supposed to have curves and be soft to snuggle with. Suggling up to her forearm would be like snuggling up to Popeye's arm.....just not for me.

Make up your mind!!! I thought the article I posted was "West Coast" related? How many more times are you going to contradict yourself?
I actualy tried to compliment your human interest story by posting an article that spoke to health in the area where she works, but you got **** hurt, which in reality, both articles have nothing to do with firefighting, just that a firefighter off duty is competing in an event (which by the way is a compliment to her) but has nothing to do with her job.
So, what do you really want? Fire related, or West coast, or both?Last edited by localtrainer75; 06-02-2008 at 08:09 PM.
